Kirsten qualified from Teesside University in the UK eleven years ago. Prior to this she completed a degree in Sports Science at Portsmouth University. Kirsten has experience working in the private sector specialising in orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and acupuncture, and more recently cancer rehabilitation.
Two years ago she completed her PINC cancer rehabilitation qualification. Kirsten is also a qualified Pilates instructor and managed her own studio in the UK. She feels Pilates is a great adjunct to physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Kirsten is passionate about rehabilitation and believes Physiotherapy is beneficial for all people, at any stage of their recovery, pre and post-surgery or living with an illness. Rehabilitation helps improve function, reduce pain, improves muscle strength and stability, as well as improving your well-being and restoring confidence.
In her spare time Kirsten and her husband enjoy walking, cycling and getting out and about exploring this beautiful country.

I completed my Physiotherapy training in the USA and have worked in New Zealand for almost forty years, mainly in the Wellington area before relocating to the Bay of Plenty. I have a comprehensive understanding of musculoskeletal conditions and expertise in assisting those with age related conditions and those recovering from injury.
I have a special interest in treating spinal pain and am a Credentialed McKenzie Practitioner and founding member of the McKenzie Institute NZ. Over the years I have enjoyed working with people of all ages and backgrounds and believe that each individual’s needs be met based on sound professional practice. Gentle hands on treatment, combined with progressive exercise and instruction, all go a long way to providing an excellent service. I continue to thoroughly enjoy my work as a physiotherapist. It provides me the opportunity to relieve one’s symptoms and restore function while always thinking of how the next injury can be prevented. I feel I am very privileged to be able to provide hope and encouragement along the way to those in need. When not working I enjoy walking, cycling, reading and a good round of golf
