Miss Aoife Whelan

Physiotherapist;

Aoife is originally from Ireland and has lived predominantly in New Zealand for the last 6 years. She likes to treat clients holistically, so her treatment sessions include rehabilitation and manual therapy while also having a focus on lifestyle, wellness, and education. With her hands-on treatment she specializes in deep tissue massage and dry needling and understands the importance of rehabilitation using a range of exercises from pilates and mobility to high level strength and conditioning programs. She has spent every season she has lived in Queenstown working with a local sports team, predominantly rugby. Over the past year she has been delving further into an area that she is very passionate about which is women’s health, recently becoming qualified as a pelvic health physiotherapist. She recently returned from Ireland where she was working in a maternity hospital with the prenatal and postnatal population teaching antenatal and postnatal education classes, treating pelvic floor issues and pelvic girdle pain. She lives a very active lifestyle with her main sports including kickboxing, running, mountain-biking, skiing and strength-based training in the gym to stop herself from getting injured! Aoife first came to Queenstown in 2017 and has been working in private practice since. She has worked with a variety of sports teams including rugby and soccer. Aoife works hard to show her people what they are capable of, striving for the best possible outcomes and returning people to their vocations and hobbies. During her treatment sessions she focuses strength and conditioning, education, and manual therapy. Aoife was drawn to Queenstown because of the rich outdoor lifestyle. Outside of work, Aoife can be found riding her bike, running, playing Gaelic football, and training for mixed martial arts. View details »
