Hailing from Titirangi in West Auckland, I ventured south in search of a more relaxed lifestyle for my three children. I have been a podiatrist for 18 years and also hold qualifications in sports coaching and athlete development. I started my career working in a large sports podiatry practise in Australia where I gained experience in sports podiatry and orthotic manufacture. On returning to New Zealand I worked for four years as a diabetes Podiatrist in the Dunedin hospital. Following that I studied foot surgery and in 2002 graduated from the New Zealand College of Podiatric Surgery. I am dedicated to improving patient care through implementation of best practice with over 25 years' experience working in private practice, the Southland and now Otago District Health Board as the diabetic high - risk podiatrist. I am a registered with the NZ podiatrist Board, member of NZ Society of Podiatrists and Wound care society. My career highlight so far was travelling to Samoa to educate and teach diabetic foot care for the National Health Services Samoa. This was with the Multidisciplinary Endocrinology and Vascular Team -Dunedin Hospital, as part of our complex multidisciplinary group.
