I was born and raised in Ireland where I studied for my bachelor of science in Physical Therapy, Sport Health and Exercise Science, and also Strength and Conditioning. Here I was extremely fortunate to work as the physio for some high grade rugby teams and our county hurling team but when I got bitten by the travel bug, New Zealand seemed the obvious choice for its love of all things rugby. I arrived in February 2016 for a two month S&C position and 4.5 years later am honored to call the Bay ‘home’.
Working in New Zealand has provided me with some fantastic opportunities to combine my education working with teams such as the NZ Maori U18s, the BOP Steamers, NZ Men’s and Women’s 7s, BOP Lakers, Rotoiti Sports Club and more recently a part of Rangiuru men’s rugby. I’ve been extremely fortunate to work as part of a fantastic crew at Foundation Clinic where I specialize in sports massage and gym rehabilitation. I’m a strong believer in ‘prehab’ and love working alongside athletes to help keep them in the arena.
My sports of choice at home were Gaelic Football and Hurling but unfortunately there are not too many teams locally so in my spare time I love to watch rugby or can usually be found somewhere in the Redwoods or a coffee shop socializing! View details »
