I’ve recently finished my Bachelors of Physiotherapy at the university of Otago and had my first 4th year placement at KCP Porirua. After having such a wonderful placement at KCP I decided I wanted to start my physiotherapy career here.
I have a long history in a variety of sports; basketball, rugby, waka Ama, dragon boating, touch, netball and most recently have transitioned to olympic weightlifting (snatch and C&J) where I have experienced many different injuries along the way so I know what its like rehabbing through an injury. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my whanau, girlfriend and friends, walking and reading.

My name is Lizzie & I have been working as a physiotherapist for eight years, & have been with KCP Physiotherapy for that whole period. I have a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy & have a special interest in sports injuries, in particular rugby injuries because I have played rugby myself & have also worked with rugby teams extensively for the last six years.
I believe everyone should be able to be active & enjoy it, in whatever way they choose! - so my aim is always to help restore patients to be able to get back to what they want to do without pain or limitation. The body does a pretty good job of healing itself so I'm just here to help aid that recovery & get it progressing a little faster!
In my spare time I like to play social sports, go to the gym, garden (only fruit & vege all about what I can grow to eat haha), cook, read & travel. I'm a friendly person & I'm pretty good at making people feel comfortable so that they can get the most out of their appointments. View details »
I've been a physio for 3 years now. Over that time my physio interests have changed slightly as I have enjoyed working with more chronic, complex cases that focus on education and helping to empower the client to take control of their own injury and their progress. For this reason also I really enjoy working with younger clients as you get the opportunity to impact how their perceive injury, pain and rehabilitation for the rest of their lives.
Being a keen football player and gym-goer myself, I have always had an interest in working with sports players. Rehabbing sport injuries is enjoyable as you get to help the athlete get back to their sport as efficiently and safely as possible, and hopefully also reduce their risk of future injury. Aside from football I also enjoy getting outside with my Kayak and catching some fish! View details »
