Katie's fascination with the human body and its mechanics inspired her to pursue a career as a physio. She has extensive experience treating a wide variety of conditions, from sports injuries and spinal injuries, to post surgical rehabilitation. Her Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy (2005), and a post graduate certificate (PG Cert) in Western acupuncture have provided her a solid foundation for a career dedicated to enhancing the well-being of her patients. She has a wealth of knowledge around pre and post natal injuries and rehabilitation, and enjoys working with new mums to support them to return to activity safely.
Being a mum of 4 adds a personal layer to her practice. Her involvement with many sports including rugby, netball, basketball and touch, as a player, physio, and supporter, is an example of her depth of understanding of the physical demands of these sports. This hands on experience equips her with valuable insights into injury prevention and rehabilitation specific to athletes.
During the winter months, outside of work hours, Katie is actively involved in her family's sports. She spends many hours on rugby, netball and basketball sidelines, watching the kids play, and trying to fit in a game or 2 herself! In the summertime she loves swimming, hiking, and wakeboarding.
