Joanna graduated from Otago University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree after coming to Dunedin from Southland. Her interest in physiotherapy stemmed from being a gymnast, with her own injuries leading her to pursue a career in helping people get back to doing what they love through rehabilitation techniques. Joanna has experience in a variety of sports from acrobatic dance to rugby. She has previously been a sideline sports medic for premier rugby teams. Originally from Scotland, Kate has obtained her Masters in Physiotherapy, following an undergraduate degree in Sports Therapy in the UK. Kate’s passion is around helping people achieve their goals and to perform at their highest ability. Kate has worked with a vast array of different athletes, including working with Scottish Hockey, European League Hockey, Melbourne Storm Rugby League and GB swimming to name a few. This has given her a detailed understanding of acute injury and sports specific rehabilitation. Previously Kate has completed time within a hospital setting working in major trauma, intensive care, pelvic health, surgical and community. Kate enjoyed the different set of challenges working with complex injuries brought and loves adapting treatment to each individual to obtain their goals and aspirations. Kate moved to New Zealand in 2023, originally working in a private practice in Hawkes Bay and has moved down to Dunedin earlier this year. As the saying goes, without your health, what do you have? Matt enjoys being part of the process to improving a person’s health by allowing them to move more effectively enabling them to improve their standard of living. His career in physiotherapy has allowed him to meet people from all walks of life and treat a myriad of diverse conditions and injuries. Matt specialises in exercise prescription and developing rehabilitation programmes following injury and surgery. He also uses video analysis software for the identification of faulty movement patterns that maybe the underlying problem associated with a particular injury. Other treatment options he explores is the incorporation of dry needling and manipulative therapy techniques and well as Pilates Rehabilitation.
