Sophie graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (with Distinction), completing her final-year placements in Otautahi Christchurch. She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, and enjoys helping people recover from injury, improve movement, and build strength.
Her approach combines manual therapy, tailored exercise prescription, and education to support long-term recovery and injury prevention. Sophie is passionate about helping people understand their bodies, feel confident throughout their rehabilitation journey and return to everyday activities without pain or limitation.
Sophie was inspired to pursue physiotherapy through her involvement in sport, especially gymnastics and rugby, as well as experiencing injuries herself. Seeing firsthand how injury and rehabilitation can affect both physical ability and confidence sparked her passion for helping others stay active and resilient.
Sophie has experience working with several rugby teams, including Glenmark-Cheviot Division 1, the North Canterbury development team, and the Canterbury U18 girls, as well as providing physiotherapy support at national tournaments for touch rugby, ultimate frisbee, and hockey.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys staying active through rugby, gym training, and walks, as well as spending time outdoors - especially at the beach with friends.View details »
