Julia qualified as a Podiatrist in 2017 and has recently moved to Christchurch from the North Island to join Active Health’s team.
Having represented Waikato in both water-polo and netball, she has developed great interest towards the biomechanics of the lower limb and injury prevention. Julia is enthusiastic and passionate about all aspects of Podiatry ranging from footwear, sports, paediatrics, diabetes and the overall health and wellbeing of the individual.

Olivia graduated from University of Otago after spending her placement year in Christchurch. During this placement year she worked with Active Health as a Sports Medic for a rugby team and after graduating joined the Active Health team.
She likes spending her spare time outdoors in a multitude of activities including running, tramping, and mountain biking. After many years of netball and tennis leading to multiple injuries, she combined her own rehab experiences with her enthusiasm for people and she found a passion for physiotherapy.
Olivia enjoys being able to work with people to treat and manage their injuries and in the long run prevent further injury whilst encouraging an active lifestyle.

As a senior physiotherapist I have extensive experience managing a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries with a special interest in low back pain, overuse injuries, the running athlete and running technique analysis.
I work alongside my clients, enabling them to build a more resilient body, as well as increase their understanding around how to reduce risk of injury in the long term. As an endurance athlete myself, I partake in ultra-endurance distance running and cycling events, along with map sports and expeditions into the backcountry. It is for this reason that I understand the challenges of managing injuries while staying active and in training.
I also have a good understanding of the mechanics of Olympic lifting, as well as martial arts. I enjoy the CrossFit gym and have experience fighting Muay Thai at a national level.
