Aine studied both my BSc and MSc in Sports Medicine in Belfast, Northern Ireland and lived there for another 2 years working across a variety of sports, but predominantly in professional rugby. It was here that her passion for high perfoirmance, treating sporting injuries and optimising health really took off. She moved to New Zealand in 2019 and has been mostly based in Mount Maunganui during this time. She returned to Ireland last year, working with the Ireland Womens Rugby team and has arrived back to NZ in time for the winter season. Since coming to New Zealand, she has become a keen hiker, surfer, runner and pilates instructor. She enjoys an active lifestyle and is keen to learn to snowboard this winter season in Queenstown. Snow-chaser Hilary embarked on her professional journey in the world of skiing, initially working across Europe, New Zealand, and Canada as a Ski Technician. It was during this time that she delved into the intricacies of the human body, utilising biomechanics to tailor ski boots to the unique needs of each client.
In 2009, Hilary returned to her hometown to pursue higher education at the University of Brighton, earning a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. Since completing her studies, she has continually fueled her enthusiasm for physiotherapy with a focus on sports. Hilary has dedicated herself to honing her expertise in managing sports injuries, collaborating closely with various sports, teams, and individual athletes. Her passion extends to rehabilitating and managing training for women and athletes, including those participating in multisport events.
Over the years, Hilary has expanded her physiotherapy skill set into diverse realms, acquiring additional qualifications to elevate her practice. Her pursuits include specialised training in managing concussions, addressing vestibular/balance disorders, tackling persistent pain issues, dealing with breathing disorders, and incorporating hydrotherapy into her repertoire.
Now a permanent citizen of Queenstown, Hilary can be spotted gliding down mountains, braving swims in Lake Wakatipu, or exploring the incredible trails and tracks of Aotearoa.
