Penny has worked in the Barrington Community since 2009. She has post graduate qualifications in pain science, rehabilitation, teaching, sport and exercise science. Penny has a focus on rehabilitation and chronic pain. She likes to use manual techniques, exercise and education to help clients with the rehabilitation process. Sarah graduated from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy and completed her post-graduate certificate in Western Acupuncture in 2016. Prior to completing her physio qualifications, she additionally has a Bachelor of Sport from Unitec which led to Sarah following her passion and skied the world, living in Canada, USA and Japan.
Sarah was a former big mountain skier and an internationally certified Ski instructor. She has had her fair share of injuries over the years which has developed a strong knowledge and understanding of sports injuries and rehabilitation. Sarah has worked in private practice for 10+ years and her areas of interest include the shoulder and spine. Sarah additionally works in oncology and specialises in oncology scar management
Since moving to Christchurch to be closer to the mountains, Sarah spends her spare time skiing, hiking and biking and looking for the next adventure

Xanthe joined Barrington Health Physio in 2025 having completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago in 2024. She enjoys working with people of all ages and supporting them on their journey to recovery, helping them get back to the activities they love. Originally from the Wairarapa, Xanthe has made Christchurch her new home, where she enjoys the perfect balance of city life, along with being close to the mountains and ocean.
