Ms Karleen Lemin
Registered Hand Therapist & Physiotherapist
Karleen graduated as a Physiotherapist from AUT in 2003 and worked at Middlemore Hospital for 15 years. 8 years of this was on the acute wards, in the National Burns Unit and the Plastics wards, specialising in Burns, Plastics and Acute Hands. This is where Karleen found her passion for Hand Therapy and worked for 2 years in the outpatient Hand Therapy Team at the Manukau Super Clinic (MSC), before starting at Handworks in 2018. The combination of having worked both in the public and private Hand Therapy clinics, has enabled Karleen to gain experience in treating a wide variety of Hand Therapy conditions. Karleen completed her post Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation in 2012 and achieved her Hand Therapy registration in 2013. Karleen is now a very experienced registered Hand Therapist and a valued member of the Howick team. In her spare time, Karleen enjoys keeping fit, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Mrs Selina Gilbert
Registered Hand Therapist & Occupational Therapist
Selina joined Handworks in 2018 after her return from Switzerland. Since graduating from AUT with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2008, she has worked in the areas of adult neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation in the hospital and community setting as well as in paediatrics. She then travelled overseas where she spent time working as a volunteer in Romania before moving to Switzerland where she specialised as a Hand Therapist. Since returning to NZ, she studied and passed the American qualification to become a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) and achieved her NZ Registered Hand Therapist status. Outside of work Selina enjoys travelling, dancing, snowboarding and spending time with family and friends. View details »
