Carina’s interest in hand therapy began in early 2025 after experiencing a distal radius fracture herself. Going through the rehabilitation process gave her a genuine appreciation for the impact of quality hand therapy and valuable insight into the patient experience.
Before moving to New Zealand in 2024, Carina worked for several years in the Philippines, gaining experience in musculoskeletal, home health, and community physiotherapy. After relocating, she began her physiotherapy career in Ashburton, working in private musculoskeletal practice. She has since moved to Christchurch, where she is focusing on developing her skills and working towards becoming a registered Hand Therapist.
Carina also contributes as a content volunteer with Physiopedia, where she helps review and create physiotherapy education resources in collaboration with clinicians from around the world.
