 Umang Patel

Umang Patel

Physiotherapist;

Umang graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2025. During his clinical year in Tauranga, he gained experience across acute, neurological, and musculoskeletal settings, developing a strong interest in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Umang brings experience as a sideline medic, having worked with both rugby and cricket teams. Throughout his life, Umang played a range of sports, including cricket at an age-representative level, and also enjoyed hockey and football. Like many athletes, he experienced his fair share of injuries and spent plenty of time receiving physiotherapy. Seeing how important physiotherapy was in helping him return to the sport he loved inspired Umang to pursue physiotherapy, and in doing that, work towards supporting others in the same way. I enjoy working closely with people through their rehabilitation journey and finding the best approach for their individual needs and goals. I aim to create a fun and friendly environment while working collaboratively with people through their recovery. My approach often includes exercise-based rehabilitation, combined with hands-on treatment and practical strategies to help people return to the things they love most. Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, playing cricket and golf, watching sport, and spending time with friends and family. On weekends you’ll usually find me doing something active; whether that’s at a sports park, exploring around New Zealand, or catching up with friends. View details »
