Ms Calie Gilbert

Physiotherapist;

Calie graduated from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 1999 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy. She began her career in private practice in Australia, where she gained five years of valuable experience before returning home to New Zealand. Since then, Calie has worked extensively in both private practice and aged care. She spent two decades supporting elderly clients in Level 4 and 5 rest home and hospital care settings and also worked in acute orthopaedic wards in private hospitals. Currently based in Dunedin, she works in vocational physiotherapy—focusing on chronic pain management, concussion, return-to-work rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal injuries. Calie has a special interest in myofascial release and scar tissue therapy, drawing on a wide range of techniques she has developed and refined over the years. She is also trained in dry needling and is a qualified pelvic health physiotherapist, having completed internal training under Dr. Melissa Davidson. With a strong background in sports physiotherapy, Calie has worked with local rugby clubs and has recently been involved in training camps with Basketball New Zealand (BBNZ). Her diverse experience—from high-performance athletes to elderly care—gives her a broad and adaptable skill set. Calie is known for building strong, supportive relationships with her clients. She is passionate about delivering high-quality care and is dedicated to helping people improve their condition and return to the activities they love. View details »
