Vijaya has a wealth of clinical and management experience in both private and public (NZ DHB equivalent) health sectors in South Africa. Following graduating, Vijaya spent one and half years in the public sector thereafter moving to a very well-established private practice at the largest private hospital in Durban.
Vijaya has vast experience with respiratory illness, orthopaedic surgery, acute neurological and multi-illness patients. She has 18 years’ experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy with a particular interest in neck and back pain as well as in headache management.
Vijaya is a mother of two beautiful girls and likes to balance her family life with her work to find the perfect level. Her family has recently relocated to New Zealand with her husband and their girls and are excited about exploring this beautiful country together. Physiotherapist & Physiotherapy Clinical Lead for Proactive Auckland
Tom has extensive experience in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy in public and private settings, as well as the British military, professional and amateur sport. He graduated in 2009 and completed further post graduate study in musculoskeletal physiotherapy 2017. His career highlights include working with the Royal Air Force Snowboard Team and with Norwich City Football Club.
Tom is from the UK originally and moved out to NZ and joined Proactive in January 2018. He started with Proactive as senior physiotherapist before progressing to lead our West Auckland team. In this role Tom is responsible for the operation of our West Auckland clinic, educating and mentoring the local clinical team, and ensures that our clinic serves its local community and partners by ensuring our clients receive the highest levels of care and user experience.
Recently, Tom has progressed further to become our physiotherapy clinical lead for our Auckland region. In this role he supports our regional manager and is responsible for ensuring the clinical quality, standards compliance, and personal and professional development of our physiotherapy team.
Tom still works clinically and gets great satisfaction in helping people to overcome their injuries and back into things they enjoy doing!
Tom enjoys being active and keeping himself fit. He loves all board sports and is a keen surfer and will regularly squeeze in a pre or post work surf. He also loves to travel with his wife Eleanor and is always looking for the next adventure.
