Sophie grew up in Queenstown and has returned after completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, followed by a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Otago, graduating with distinction in 2024. A former national competitor in rowing and ski racing, she continued rowing at university, making the top women’s eight and representing Otago in Shenyang, China. Off the water, she enjoys trail running, mountain biking, skiing, and exploring the Southern Lakes region.
During her studies, Sophie gained hands-on experience as a sports medic for premier club and high school rep rugby teams, while also working as a group fitness instructor, rehabilitation coach, hiking guide, and ski coach. Her background in high-performance sport, combined with a love of movement and the outdoors, fuels her passion for sports physiotherapy and musculoskeletal injury management.
