Mr Maurice Valente
Lead Physiotherapist
Maurice is a highly experienced physiotherapist with over 14 years of practice across both public and private health sectors in New Zealand and South Africa. He holds a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (2010) and a postgraduate diploma in Sports Physiotherapy (2014). Maurice’s expertise includes sports injuries, manual therapy, exercise prescription, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), dry needling, Mulligan methods, and Kinesio-taping. He has worked extensively with high-level athletes in rugby, cricket, and rowing, and has collaborated closely with surgeons to provide comprehensive post-surgical rehabilitation, including bariatrics, abdominal, gastrointestinal, and orthopaedic surgeries. His clinical interests focus on post-surgical orthopaedic rehabilitation, lumbar spine injuries, as well as knee and ankle conditions. Outside of work, Maurice enjoys running and trail running, gym training, hiking, tramping, camping, travelling, and exploring places “off the beaten track.” View details »
